Corporate Social Investment

DSC00199Corporate Responsibility is a key protocol of Informa’s overall business strategy. At the Institute for International Research South Africa this has become a key practice and we are proud of the success of our various CSR initiatives. Echoing Emma Blaney, Group HR and CR Director at Informa, “The best companies to work for are responsible”, IIR South Africa is striving to achieve this status.

Key to the growth and development of successful initiatives has been the engagement of all the IIR staff in driving ideas and their dedication to making a difference within our local communities.

The company has embarked on many successful projects as an IIR and Informa initiative. In order to develop and monitor the progress of key CSR initiatives, there is a team dedicated to promoting IIR’s brand identity. The Inside Out Branding (IOB) team is incredibly passionate and strives to ensure that the whole company identifies with key practices and projects to ensure full company engagement.

In 2007 IIR SA officially ‘adopted’ Ekukhanyeni – Home of Light and Hope - a non-governmental, not-for-profit organisation that focuses on community upliftment in two poverty stricken informal settlements close to Johannesburg.  Every month, we have various different initiatives to raise money, clothes, supplies and food for the children of Ekukhanyeni.

IIR has been given a wonderful opportunity to support and watch the development of these amazing children, as well as seeing how the effort  put in translates to providing warm clothes and full tummies!  The children of Ekukhanyeni have a special place in the hearts of the IIR staff and it has been an absolute honour to be associated with such amazing and warm individuals

Amongst our other CSR initiatives,DSC02789

We have our very successful Green Week whereby each department tackles an issue relating to green business and each team must actively encourage efficiency and sustainability in their teams as part of a long term business strategy
Go Banana’s Day for the World Cancer Research Fun, this is an exciting initiative whereby every year we raise money for cancer research by partaking in fun activities. This year we held a very successful Banana Bonanza, where each team participated in creating yummy goods and drinks to sell to the staff in order to raise funds
